I figured out today that embroidery patterns are great inspiration for doodling!
Pin Tangle has some great pictures that I'm going to try to work into my doodling.
The following are from an old French DMC needlework book Sharon found.
She also refrences Antique Pattern Library that offeres tons of knitting, lace, and embroidery patterns in PDF.



So what got me to searching for this kind of art is the term tangle that I've been seeing.
Zentangle to be exact. Basically, it's an abstract and intuitive art that deals with repeated patterns. A form of art meditation.
Here is a website with all you need to know! The site is a comercial site that sells it's products that aid your creative experience, but there are some great examples as well.
An interesting idea is to use your left (or other hand) to create a tangle.
